How To Consign:

 Percentages & Fees
  • For every item sold, the owner (consignor) receives 60% of the price and Charlestown Playhouse receives 40%.
  • There will be a $10.00 fee for all consignors. The fee is due when you deliver your items and register at the desk. 
    • We reserve the right to charge a higher consignment fee for extremely large quantities of items.
Items Accepted/Not Accepted
  • The Charlestown Sale has many departments:  Clothing, Toys, Shoes, Books, Bric-a-Brac, Furniture, Purses, etc.  
  • See Accepted Items page for what is accepted and not accepted.  
    • It is important to review this page as the Charlestown Sale reserves the right to refuse (at take-in) or remove (after take-in) any non-accepted item.  
Item Limits
  • 25 total pieces of women’s clothing made up of the following: pants, sweaters, dresses, suits, skirts, tops/blouses, jackets, blazers & coats. All teen clothing is considered adult.
  • ​Based on space limitations, we reserve the right to limit other items as needed.
Tag Requirements Item Presentation
  • All Items
    • Must be clean, in good condition and in working order to be accepted.
      • Any items not meeting these requirements will be refused.  If an item is accepted and later found to not meet this requirement, the Sale has the right to dispose of the item.  
  • Clothing
    • All clothing must be in season.  
    • All clothing must be on hangers except socks,  women’s and children's shorts, and women's intimates.
    • Pants & skirts must be on clip pant hangers.
      • Extra hangers are typically available for consignor use but not guaranteed. 
    • Socks may be grouped and placed in plastic bags. 
  • Shoes
    • Shoes must NOT be in boxes.      
  • Items with Multiple Pieces
    • When possible, the multiple parts should be attached to each other so they stay together.  
    • When an item has multiple separate pieces, each part should be tagged with a “1 of 2”, “2 of 2” type tag.  The price should be only one of the tags.  
    • Items with multiple pieces also can be in a clear plastic bag with the tag secured to the bag.  
    • Games and puzzles should be taped closed.  
Pricing
  • Price your items to sell!! Think about what you would pay for the item.  
  • Prices must end in increments of .50 or .00. 

Item Take In 
  • Consignment Items will only be accepted on Consignor Take-In Days (see calendar) unless other arrangements have been made.  
  • Items must be checked in by a Sale committee member.  Items cannot be left without inspection.  
  • Please check with front desk before bringing in large items to ensure space is available.  
  • Please use the "Contact Us" form below if you have questions or need to make special arrangements.

Pay-off & Unsold Items
  • Pay-off
    • Consignors may pick up their check payment and sold tickets on the Friday after the Sale ends from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  
    • Consignors who are unable to pick up their check payment in person must supply a self-addressed stamped envelope at registration. 
      • Checks will be mailed after the sale and sold tickets will not be included.
  • Unsold Items
    • Consignors have the option to collect their unsold items or donate them.  
      • To Donate:  No action is needed.  Items will be included in the Half Price and Bag Sale.  
      • To Retrieve Unsold Items:
        • Items will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Friday after the Sale ends.  
        • YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING YOUR UNSOLD ITEMS. The Charlestown Sale is not responsible for lost items. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we cannot guarantee that all of your unsold items will be found. If you cannot locate an item, check with the front desk as it is possible your missing item was broken or the tag came off. (We will help you look for your items when time/staffing allows)
        • Special arrangements may be made for larger items to be picked up later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday or over the weekend if necessary.    Please speak to someone at the front desk to make arrangements.
        • Consignors will not be compensated for lost items.
    • Any unsold items remaining after 2:00 PM on Friday are the property of the Charlestown Sale.
      • They will be included in the Half Price Sale on Saturday and the Bag Sale on Sunday, with all proceeds going directly to the Charlestown Sale.
    • Any unsold items remaining after the Bag Sale will be donated to local charitable organizations.
